Friends of the Countryside : Introduction

Friends of the Countryside represents the custodians of European estates and the traditional industries, patrimony, and heritage in their stewardship. These landowners, entrepreneurs and decision makers which compose FCS, create a network of like-minded individuals united to promote the interests of their land and livelihood through innovative and sustainable practices. Through the platform of ELO, Friends of the Countryside are able to ensure that their voice is heard throughout the European Union and beyond.

What is it?

The Welcoming Estates Website is a service provided exclusively for those Friends of the Countryside members who have a website for their Estate. The aim of the new website is to attract more tourists to our estates and let them enjoy the beautiful countryside, nature and facilities. If you wish you can welcome only members of Friends of the Countryside to your estate. This is possible, as estate owner you can decide yourself to be visible only for members of Friends of the Countryside or to the general public, or both.

Why?

Because by providing a user-friendly, organized and attractive website we are convinced that people will increasingly find their way to the countryside and enjoy the hidden treasures each estate has to offer.

Who?

De Hoge Veluwe National Park (NL) has donated €5000 to be able to start this project, and the marketing and communication agency Boubeek has been assigned the project management. Mr. Hein Van Beek is specialized in leisure activities (www.qlhotels.com, www.seasonsbedandbreakfast.nl).

What’s next?

Fees: entrance fee € 250 excl. VAT. Annual fee of € 200 excl. VAT

If an estate owner wants to join, the first step is to fill in the Agreement Form. Once we receive this form, we will send the estate an Information Form.

As soon as the Welcoming Estates Website has received this information form, photos and a transfer confirmation of the entrance and annual fee, they will ensure that your estate will be included on the Welcoming Estates Website.

We look forward to receiving your signed agreement form.
